Engaging Questions to Ask on Social Media

One of the funniest and popular ways to get people engaged through social media is to ask your audience engaging questions. Below is a list of great engaging questions to ask on Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, or any other social network where the user can comment their answer.

Using engaging questions can result in more likes, more followers, and more people to be interested in what you have to say. Plus it gives you the opportunity to interact and network at the same time by participating, that’s what makes these questions engaging.

Simple Engaging Questions

What is your favorite music genre?

What would you do with $1,000?

What is your biggest fear?

What is your ideal vacation in one sentence?

What was your favorite subject in school?

*Some of these questions came from MarshallJonesJR.com, they list 100 different interesting questions to help you come up with simple engaging questions. These questions are meant to be usually one word, phrase, or short sentence. People love these because they do not require alot of time to participate in.

Either/Or Engaging Questions

Would you rather have $100,000 in real money OR $1,000,000 in Amazon gift cards?

Would you rather live in a world where there were no problems OR live in a world where you rule.

Would you rather be famous OR the best friend of someone famous?

Would you rather be a wizard OR a ninja?

Would you rather have free Starbucks for a year OR free iTunes music forever?

*I got some of these questions off of RRRather.com, where you can find many more either/or engaging questions. Here you are giving your users only two options, how easy is that to participate in!

Yes/No Engaging Question

Do you drink coffee?

Do you know the difference between effect and affect?

Do you think it will rain tomorrow?

Have you ever tried sushi?

Have your traveled to another country?

*Ok, yes/no questions, these are truly the simplest of the engaging questions. Even with these, it allows the user to answers in 3 letters or less, who doesn’t have time for that right? Or some may even give an explanation as to why. You will run in to half and half with this type, I see it as a common trend.

Can you describe this photo in less than 3 words? Ready, go!

*Photo engaging questions are personally my favorite ways to get engaged with anything because I am such a visual person. It’s proven, photos do well, and you can make a big impact with just one so make it the right one.

Business Engaging Questions

Did you know we offer (name your companies’ product)?

Which of our products or services do you most appreciate and why?

What would you like to see from our company?

Can you guess why costumers love our (specific product) so much?

Did you know our company was founded in (insert year)?

*These types of questions/facts are great great great if you have a business. Especially if you could get some loyal customers to really step up and talk about what and why they love about your products.

*I got these trivia questions from The Random Trivia Generator online where they have over 6,000 different types of trivia questions and answers each time you refresh the page. They have Arts & Literature, Geography, Entertainment, History, Science & Nature, and Miscellaneous trivia categories.

Yes there your audience can always “Google” to get the answer, but trivia is always fun! You can also customize your trivia to what you do or your purpose on social media, whether your social networks are centered around technology, fashion, food, animals, etc. You can even blend a trivia questions with a photo, that always does well.

Remember, engaging questions are just another way to keep your social network presence more interesting and fun for your audience. No matter what your purpose is on the web, there is always room for engaging questions.
